Our Team

David-2My family have been involved with horses for centuries. My father and my great grandfathers on both sides were heavily involved in trading horses and equipment, its no wonder I was destined to also work in this trade.

The business was founded in 1919 by my father initially in transport and haulage which I was involved in, before running a hotel in the 1970’s for a number of years, but I always come back to my love of horses and I have been involved with buying and selling equipment for over forty years, mainly importing goods from all over the world in bulk in order to secure great prices which enables me to pass this on to you, the customer.

With staff members taking an interest in endurance, I decided to branch out in to this area of sales, and Dave Wilson Equestrian was formed.

I take a keen interest in new technology, and sourcing as many products as possible direct from the manufacturers which helps to keep our prices competitive. As a horse owner, I can trial new products to make sure we are bringing you the best.

I take pleasure in bringing new products to you from all over the world.

If you have any questions or need advice of any kind, my knowledgeable staff are able to help you.

Jacqui-2I got my first real opportunity to ride horses when I went up to High School and found out they had a horse riding club. This meant I could get out of class early every Thursday AND ride a horse, although I didn’t lose the bug for horses once I left school, other priorities took over.

Many years later, I took up riding and carriage driving as a hobby which lead me to meet David Wilson.

I bought my first horse, Notorious (aptly named!) from David, and the rest is history… 20ish years later, working at Dave Wilson Equestrian, selling equipment and training horses,

I have learned a lot and am happy to pass on any advice I can to our customers.

ConnieI’ve always loved horses – I think they’re magnificent animals.

I rode friends ponies as a child and teenager but always wanted to have my own, preferably a Chestnut Arab gelding with 4 white socks and a blaze. It took me a long time but I finally got my Arab with the white socks and blaze – not the Chestnut gelding but a grey mare called Snaafi Sarasarnie (Zara to her friends).

We enjoy hacking out with friends and I’ve been a member of Lothians Branch of the Scottish Endurance Riding Club (SERC) for 14 years  competing in rides up to 50kms, gaining our Bronze Thistle Final at the Scottish Championships in 2014 at Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders, where Zara also won the Novice Championship
